A FUEL tanker caught fire in Shoebury this morning.
Essex Fire Service were called to an industrial yard in Vanguard Way this morning at 5am with reports that the fuel tanker with an unknown quantity of kerosene was on fire.
Three fire engines attended the scene from Shoebury and Southend.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "When the fire crew arrived at the incident, they reported the cab and the first section of the tanker was alight.
"The crew quickly managed to extinguish the fire, while keeping the rest of the tanker cool so the fire didn't spread and catch the whole tanker alight.
"An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire."
No one was injured.
