FIRE crews rushed to car fire near a pub.
The car was on fire on the grass verge in West Mayne, Laindon today at 9.22am.
Witnesses reported flames were pouring from the car which was left on the side of the road as drivers from passing vehicles looked on.
The fire was a matter of metres away from the Four Seasons pub on Victoria Road.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival crews reported that one car was alight.
"The fire was extinguished by 10.06am. The cause has been recorded as accidental.”
