A BASILDON engineering company has announced the winner of its national competition.
Leonardo’s Wopsie the Cat competition encouraged applicants to create aircraft designs inspired by the story of Wopsie, who climbed aboard the first airship to travel across the Atlantic. The children were required to design an aircraft for Wopsie’s next adventure.
The competition was organised as part of RAF100 centenary celebrations and received 649 entries.
Hannah Amanda Donnelly, 10, who attends Pirniehall Primary School in Pilton, Edinburgh, was announced as the winner of the competition. She received a special trophy and £100 of book vouchers at an award ceremony at Leonardo.
Hannah said: “I feel so proud that my drawing was chosen out of so many other entries.”
