A CHARITY golf event has raised more than £4,000 for Basildon Hospital’s breast unit.
Around 60 people attended Allan Brodie’s charity golf day at the Three Rivers Golf and Country Club, in Purleigh, on October 21.
Pembroke Engineering and SimFin Financial Planning Limited also each donated £1,000 for the cause.
Allan said: “I decided to help raise funds for the breast unit after a family member was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“The unit helped them get through this tough time with a great deal of support.
“I thought it would be nice if I could give something back to the unit and decided to organise the charity golf day.”
Clair Grayston, charity fundraiser at Basildon Hospital, added: “We are extremely grateful to Allan and all those who supported the charity golf day.
“The generous donation will be used to create a warmer, more comfortable waiting area for our patients and their families who visit the breast unit.”
