EMERGENCY services were called to a false alarm in Basildon on Sunday night.
Multiple police cars and fire engines were seen at Trinity Methodist Church in Clayhill Road, Basildon shortly after 11.30pm last night.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing at least three police cars, an on-call fire officer and two fire engines stationed at the church with blue lights and sirens.

Essex Fire Service confirmed they were called to the incident with reports of a gas leak, but it was quickly confirmed to be a false alarm and no further action was taken.
