A SUPERMARKET shopper has given himself a permanent reminder of his favourite retail chain by getting a tattoo of the Marks & Spencer logo on his arm.

Chris Coates, 43, who is both a fan of the shop and body art, has added the tattoo to a host of others which include skulls, Pickle Rick and Boss Baby.

The 6ft 2ins father-of-four proudly showed of the ‘M&S’ tattoo with ‘EST.1884’ below following the addition.

He said: “I love Marks & Spencer, I’ve been shopping there for years.

“Not only is it great value and great food and products, the customer service is just second-to-none.

“The staff always cheer me up in there, and one thing that is really important to me is they have never ever judged me as some other stores have in the past.

“Because I’m covered in tattoos and more than 6ft tall, when I walk into a shop I’m followed around as if I’m going to shoplift but Marks has never pre-judged and I’m grateful to them for that.”

Chris has a total of 19 tattoos. He uses his right arm for skulls and left arm for his favourite bands, films, dates of birth of his children and now his favourite shop.

He also has a jigsaw tattoo which symbolises autism as two of his children are autistic.

The latest effort sits proudly along with his Pickle Rick tattoo from the Rick and Morty animated series and just above a Boss Baby cartoon character tattoo – from the Dreamworks children’s film released in 2017.

He added: “The tattoo parlour, my family, and Marks think it’s cool but totally mad and some of my kids can’t believe I went through with it.”

Partner Marie Davies, 36, said: “From the moment he said he was getting it done I knew he wasn’t joking."

A spokesman for the retailer said: “Full marks to Chris for his customer loyalty. This Christmas, we’re celebrating our #MyMarksFaves and Chris is certainly one of them.

“We’ll be marking his new tattoo with a treat next time he comes into the store.”
