A CAR drove across a busy road and crashed into the front of a store in Benfleet.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Benfleet High Street.
Previous claims that the vehicle was forced into the Co-Op store by another driver have been rebuffed by an eyewitness who has shared the footage.
The video appears to show the BMW X5 pulling out abruptly and directly into a line of traffic.
The queue of traffic in the inside lane stops as does the BMW which is now stuck in their path attempting to turn right.
A car in the outside line comes along and drives into the now stationary BMW which is in the middle of the road crashing into it.
The BMW then drives straight forward across two other lanes of traffic and into the shop directly ahead.
The witness said: "Drivers are not meant to turn right out of there, this driver attempted to do that, stopped in the road, then seemed to accelerate and crash straight into the store.
"I have no idea what they were thinking."
