Police are no longer looking for Ian Slater in connection with the murder of a man in Southend.
A 49 year-old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, February 24) on suspicion of murder and he is currently in custody.
It follows an incident shortly before midnight on Thursday, February 21 where a man in his 30s was found injured at an address in Roots Hall Drive.
He was taken to hospital but, sadly, later died and a forensic post-mortem examination has found he had suffered a stab wound to the leg.
A 30 year-old woman arrested on Friday evening on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder has been released on bail until March 21.
Officers are continuing to appeal for information about the incident including CCTV or dash cam footage.
