WESTCLIFF'S Genting Casino is preparing to host the third leg of the 2019 Genting Poker Series.
One of 13 Mini events in the highly anticipated poker series, the four-day event begins tomorrow.
Players will compete for a prize pot of £35,000 and the winner will be crowned on Sunday evening.
A popular venue on the Genting Poker Series circuit, the south-east leg of the competition is expected to attract poker players from across the country.
As well as the main prize, the event will provide nine finalists seats at a Genting Poker Series Main event.
Kevin Proctor, Poker Operations Manager at Genting UK, said: “The Genting Poker Series is one of the highlights on our calendar every year. We look forward to welcoming poker players old and new through our doors for the latest edition of the tournament.
“It’s one of our biggest events and with such a large sum of money up for grabs, we’re expecting the competition to be as fierce as ever.”
This year, 17 Genting Poker Series events will take place across the country, which will include four Main events and 13 Mini events. Every event is open to players of all abilities and no qualification is required.
In addition, Genting UK is introducing an exciting number of changes designed to enhance players’ poker experience in 2019.
All Main events will now have an additional Day one which will run on a 40-minute clock rather than the normal one-hour level. Genting Poker Series events will also have four Day one’s at each Main event, to ensure the Main events are much more accessible to people who are working.
This year, Genting UK have also introduced a Button Ante structure across all Main and Mini events.
When a Button Ante is used, the player on the button will pay the ante for the entire table which, as a result, speeds up the play for all involved. The Genting UK Poker Series is the only national UK poker tour to adopt the popular button ante format.
The event costs £225 to enter and players can register at any Genting casino across the country or on the day of the event itself at Genting Casino Westcliff.
