A SOUTH Essex road has been branded the millionaire mile after it was revealed it is littered with expensive homes. New figures have revealed the most prolific streets in Essex, with Benfleet Road, Benfleet, being home to six sales of more than £1million.
The data also showed that Thorpe Lea Close, in Billericay, had four sales of over £1million.
Elsewhere in Billericay, 13 houses were sold for over the £1million mark.
Houses on seven roads in Leigh were sold for over £1million, with six houses elsewhere in Southend selling for over seven figures.
A house in Great Wakering, Rochford, also sold for over £1million.
Russell Quirk, Director of Keller Williams estate agents, who collected the data from across Essex, said: "With 339 house sales at £1m and more in the past year, it shows that Essex remains a very prosperous place to live and is home to numerous high net worth individuals that despite political and economic uncertainty of late, still took the plunge and invested in the county’s finest bricks and mortar last year. "And it’s not all confined to areas that are closest to London – with Southend, Westcliff and Leigh on Sea achieving 23 high value sales."
