ELLEN McPhillips, the new director of the Cliffs Pavilion and Palace theatres, arrives in Westcliff after a previous stint on the north Norfolk coast.
As well as being an experienced theatre professional, it looks as if she also has a strong taste for the seashore.
This could make the Cliffs the only theatre in the world prepared to consider mounting a production of David Hasselhoff's pet project, Baywatch the Musical.
