A STREET came together to sing to a birthday girl - from a safe distance.
The residents in Second Avenue, Billericay organised the brilliant effort for five-year-old Phoebe Cornell.
Mum, Jodie, was overwhelmed by the support in the community.
She said: “Phoebe turned five on April 4 and one of our neighbours started a messaging group for the whole street and posted a note to us all and asked who would like to join when the lockdown started.
“There’s a lot of us and we all chat daily on the group. As it was phoebe’s birthday and she wasn’t able to see family and friends or have a party, I asked if anyone would like to come and sing happy birthday.
“She went for a walk at 6.30am that morning and everyone came out and sang to Phoebe and it was amazing and very emotional.”
The family said it meant so much.
