The knife
A MAN has been jailed for carrying a large knife on a train in Benfleet.
British Transport Police have confirmed a 22-year-old man from London has been jailed for 38 weeks.
The sentence comes after a stop and search was carried out on a c2c train in Benfleet on October 10 last year.
The man was jailed for 26 weeks for carrying the knife, and an additional 12 weeks for breaching a previous suspended sentence.
He will also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
