ONE of the first Covid-19 patients at Southend Hospital has left its critical care unit after a month battling the virus, declaring he can't wait for a beer and a curry.
The patient, who remains weak, is now in the high dependency unit at Southend Hospital where he will received continued treatment for coronavirus.

Revealing the news on Twitter, Southend Hospital's critical care unit said: "Today one of our first patients admitted with Covid-19 went to the HDU after a month in Critical Care.
"He is very weak but looking forward to a curry and lager - hope he doesn't have to wait too long!!
