An air ambulance was spotted landing on the beach at Southend seafront earlier this afternoon.
The Essex and Herts air ambulance landed on the beach near to where Chester Avenue joins Eastern Esplanade, at around 2.30pm today.
Police officers took to the site opposite the Gas Works car park to form a blockade with their vehicles along the Eastern Esplanade, while ambulance teams dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service, said: "Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to the beach on the Eastern Esplanade at Southend on Sea following reports of a man found unconscious.
"One patient was transported by road ambulance to Southend Hospital for further assessment and care."
