easyJet will once again be flying from Southend Airport, it has been announced.
Today, Southend Airport welcomes the return of easyJet flights with the first scheduled departure to Alicante at 10.05am today (July 20).
easyJet will once again commence operations with flights to Alicante, Faro, Malaga and Palma during July, providing 13 flights each week.
Routes are expected to increase during August to also include, Ibiza, Mahon and Pula.
It comes after a shock announcement from easyJet at the end of June, with the airline fearing they would have to close their hub at the airport in a move to reduce staff numbers.
The above destinations will join those offered by Ryanair and Wizz who have been operating passenger flights from July 1 and 6 respectively.
The easyJet destinations will bring the airport’s complement to 19 destinations in August including Wideroe’s new route to Bergen.
