POLICE have announced they are continuing to investigate an assault in which a man was attacked with a knife.
Essex Police officers were called to Delaware Crescent, Shoeburyness, shortly before 1.20pm on Friday after reports a 39-year-old man was kicked and attacked with a knife, causing cuts and scratches.
Fortunately, he was not seriously injured and he was taken to hospital for treatment before later being discharged.
A 42-year-old man from Shoeburyness was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage.
He was released on bail until August 18 while officers continue their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
An Essex Police spokesman said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
He added: "We have been speaking to local residents, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses.
“We are grateful for the community’s support with our enquiries so far and would like to thank those people who have provided information to us.
