CURRENTLY, flights to Southend Airport for Amazon and other parcel carriers are taking off later than 1am and promptly at 6am, more than the airport erroneously promised earlier this year.
These flights disturb the sleep of many residents in Leigh and no doubt potentially in Rochford, although redirection is another broken promise.
I perceive no response to my suggestion that these parcel flights could be scheduled in the currently empty daytime passenger slots, indeed the trading update released by Stobart states “night-time cargo flights could be expanded”.
This cannot happen!
Perhaps the airport’s investors would like to experience some sleep deprivation.
