IN the summer, Conservative councillors flocked to praise Sir David Amess MP for “ending night flights” single-handed.
They wrote into this paper to specifically state that no credit was owed to councillors Carole Mulroney, Keith Evans, Beth Hooper, Ashley Thompson and myself for our ongoing efforts to improve the airport noise and emissions situation.
The scheduling of night flights did not change as announced by Sir David and his Conservative colleagues so now they seek to pass on the blame.
I’m willing to stand up and say we tried and failed but will keep on trying.
DANIEL COWAN
Councillor for St Laurence Ward
