ZIGGY Trixx - the world-famous skateboarding Staffordshire bull terrier - has died, his distraught owner has revealed.
Adem Basharan’s beloved dog Ziggy Trixx shot to fame online after videos of him skateboarding, breakdancing and doing handstands went viral.
The clever pooch also appeared in a promotional trailer for the ITV show Britain’s Got Talent and on a Channel 5 programme called Puppies Make You Laugh Out Loud.
His owner Adem is now hoping to create a “dogumentary” so that his legacy can live on following his death on January 16.
Adem, 32, from Southend, told the Echo: “Ziggy in his lifetime made a big difference to his breeds reputation and the image of Staffy’s.
“His life was a stand against breed discrimination.
“He used to do street shows back in the day and I jus really wanted to spread the message of the life he lived.
“The point really is so that his legacy has a chance to live on. There’s a really magical story behind it and it would be nice to share that with people.”
Ziggy once hit 100 million views for one his trick performing videos.
He had more than 390,000 followers, with people all across the world keeping up to date with his tricks and performance on social media.
Ziggy died from a swollen prostate that couldn’t be operated on, at the age of seven.
Adem, who has launched a fundraiser for the documentary, wants to put the years of footage they created together so he can share the impact that Ziggy’s life had on people across the world.
He added: “It would mean the world to me and a lot of people if we could spread the exciting adventure of the life that Ziggy had with everyone.
“The further the message goes, the bigger the impact his life would have essentially had.
“Any support would be greatly appreciated and it would be nice to make this dream a reality.”
Remembering Ziggy and the impact he had on those that followed his life, Adem added: “He was my best friend. He was the best friend I’ve ever had. I think his death sent a wave of tears across the world.”
