TWO parts of south Essex has seen a big week on week rise in its Covid rate, despite rates falling in most other parts of the area.
West Shoebury has seen its infection rate rise to 484.6 cases per 100,000 people.
This is an increase of 183.3 per cent in the space of a week.
Leigh has also seen a huge jump, up 152.9 per cent in a week, although its Covid rate remains lower than the England average.
Although most areas in south Essex have seen their Covid rates fall, a few areas have seen increases compared with a week earlier.
These are Wickford North East, South Benfleet, Shoeburyness, Hockley and Hawkwell West, Hadleigh North and Langdon Hills.
The Government figures are from the seven days to February 6.

South Essex' average infection rates are continuing to fall.
Southend's is now 188.4 cases per 100,000 people, Basildon's 156 cases per 100,000 people, Rochford's 139.6 cases per 100,000 people, Castle Point's 161.5 cases per 100,000 people and Thurrock's is 161.8 cases per 100,000 people.
