DEVASTATED mourners say it feels their loved ones have been “buried at sea” after major floodwater at a graveyard.

Angry families have hit out after Willow Cemetery, Northwick Road, Canvey has been left saturated, leaving the grass like a bog.

One mourner has been so upset by her grandfather’s grave she shared her images on social media.

Martin Burrows, 55, of Canvey said: “It’s so bad over there - you could be forgiven for thinking loved ones are being buried at sea.

“It’s so deep and boggy in some places and doesn’t make losing anyone any easier at all.

“Something needs to be sorted very soon as we cannot put up with this any longer - it’s a disgrace to see the site like this.”

Jeni Calder found her grandfather’s grave underwater and posted the images online.

She said: “ It’s heartbreaking to go and see my pops and I literally sink into the ground.”
