Residents are warned to expect to hear an increase in loud bangs along the south Essex coast next week.
The Ministry of Defence says activity on its site in Shoebury may mean explosions can be heard in the area between Monday and Friday.
Gunfire may also be heard on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The MOD says the weather will play a major factor in how far the loud sounds will travel.
It says activities will be taking place between 9am and 5pm each day, though the timings are subject to change “at short notice”.
