A VIGIL that was previously cancelled in Southend following the disappearance of a woman will now go ahead.
The vigil following marketing executive Sarah Everard going missing was first organised for Southend Victoria Station at 6pm tomorrow, before police advised against it due to Covid restrictions.
It comes as police continue to piece together the circumstances of Ms Everard’s disappearance in South London.
However, organiser Sam Reed has posted that the police are allowing vigils to go ahead and is pressing on with the event.
People attending will need to strictly adhere to social distancing and wear face masks.
The vigil, with the bannerhead "Reclaim these Streets", aims to show solidarity to any woman who has been victim to sexual assault or harassment.

Ms Everard, 33, vanished while walking home from a friend’s flat in south London on March 3.
Ms Everard is thought to have walked through Clapham Common towards her house in Brixton – a journey which should have taken around 50 minutes.
Police said on Wednesday night that remains had been found in an area of woodland in Kent.
A police officer in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command has been arrested on suspicion of Ms Everard’s kidnap and murder.
