A DRIVER has been fined after travelling more than 100 miles to Southend from Peterborough.
The Southend Local Policing Team were conducting patrols in the borough last night when they pulled over a car that was suspicious.
The team subsequently found the car had travelled more than 100 miles down from Peterborough, via Barking, to the borough.
The driver and passenger of the car were both fined.
A spokesman for the team said: "Taking a drive to #Southend from #Peterborough via #Barking is not essential travel! Fines issued to both driver and passenger."
