Visitors have been returning to Southend following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Gatherings of up to six people are allowed under the new rules in place from today, while outside sports facilities have also been given the all clear to reopen.
Down at Southend seafront, a steady stream of daytrippers have turned up to make the most of the new rules, and warmer weather.
Southend Council has reopened all of its seafront car parks from today, having been forced to shut them since early January.
Some eateries have also opened for takeaway, including Ye Olde Chippy which has only recently relocated to a new position on the seafront.
Part owner George Zinonos said: "It's been quite busy so far, espcially with the warmer weather.
"And it's really good to be back open again and in our new store.
"At the old store on the seafront, we were open for 34 years.
"Today has been about getting the correct signage and safety measures in place to keep everyone safe. It's been great so far.
"It's so lovely to see families back in, and I've got all mine working with me. My cousin is here, my sister, my son-in-law and more - it's a family affair."
Neptune's Restaurant is another eatery which is also offering takeaway on the seafront today.
Hundreds of people are thought to have flocked to Southend to mark the start of the school holidays and easing of lockdown.

But the town's director of public health, Krishna Ramkhelawon, is urging families to stick to social distancing rules.
He said: "The second stage of the roadmap is now fast approaching and from Monday, March 29, the first day of the school Easter holidays, there is a further slight relaxation of restrictions as the rule of six or two households comes into effect.
"While this is exciting and we all want to return to normal, we do not want the number of cases to rise again locally.
"I urge you to stick to the national guidance and encourage you to keep up the good work and help Southend-on-Sea with a safe step out of lockdown."
