SOUTHEND’S Coastguard found a sailor battling to stop his vessel hitting the shore during an emergency call-out.
The Coastguard was called to the incident after a 999 call yesterday morning.
The call reported a vessel drifting close to shore with a person in the water trying to stop it from hitting the shoreline.
Southend Coastguard attended with RNLI Southend who launched the inshore lifeboat to help.

Both teams arrived at the same time to find the casualty was out of the water and onboard their vessel.
A crewman boarded the vessel and it was towed back to its mooring.
The crew carried out a welfare check on the casualty who remained in their vessel until low water.
