Hundreds of oysters were seized by police as illegal fishing continues on the south Essex coast.
Police and council staff were called to Chalkwell Esplanade on April 17 after reports of the acitivity on the shores.
Officers say a man is now set to appear in court.
A spokesman for Southend Policing Team said: "On 17 April PC D'Cruze worked with Southend's Community Safety Officers and Environmental Health from Southend Council to deal with oyster pickers at Chalkwell Esplanade.
"A man received a summons to court at the scene and all of the oysters were seized."
