A man, riding an electric bike, died after falling and suffering serious head injuries.
The man in his 50s died at the scene after the incident Gafzelle Drive, Canvey.
Police, ambulances and an air ambulance rushed to the incident yesterday afternoon.
Essex Police says there was nobody else involved in the incident.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called by ambulance colleagues to an incident in Canvey just after 6.30pm yesterday.
"A man had fallen from his electric bike along Gafzelle Drive and sustained serious head injuries.
"Despite the best efforts of those on scene, a local man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"At this time, we do not believe any other persons were involved and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
"The road was closed while officers investigated but has since reopened."
