ANOTHER dispersal order has bee put in place in Leigh after a large drunk group formed and caused chaos.
Essex Police issued the new order at 7pm last night and it is inplace until 11.59pm today.
The order is the second to be issued this weekend following the first order was put in place in Old Leigh and Chalkwell on Friday.
The latest order follows reports of people congregating in the area and consuming alcohol in public places and behaving anti-socially.
A police spokesman said: "The order has been put in place to prevent crime and disorder and prevent people living in the area being harassed, alarmed or distressed.
"It gives officers powers to move anyone believed to be behaving anti-socially from the area."
The zone runs across Leigh High Street, Belton Gardens, Belton Way East, New Road, Leigh Park Road, Leigh Hill, Broadway West and Rectory Grove.
There have beeen numerous incidents and Covid rule breaches in Leigh in the past year.
Reports on Friday suggested a large group of people had met up on Chalkwell beach, drank and behaved anti-socially.
Call police with information on any anti-social behaviour on 101.
