A BRUTAL thug kicked a woman who was nearly 70 years old - but has still been spared jail.
Graham Reid, 54, of Long Riding, Basildon, has appeared in court where he admitted assault by beating of the woman in Basildon.
The attack took place on August 12 last year, and Reid was also on bail at the time for another offence.

The magistrates’ bench at Basildon Magistrates’ Court said that the offence was aggravated by the victim’s age and that Reid had used a “Shod foot” as a weapon - where his shoes were on during the attack.
He was given eight weeks in prison suspended for a year with 30 days rehabilitation.
Reid must also pay £200 compensation to the victim.
