Pictures have shown the aftermath of a 'major incident' on Southend seafront, with a police cordon remaining in place.
It's understood at least four police cars and four paramedic teams attended the incident, which is believed to have unfolded earlier this evening (June 1).
There have been reports of casualties, while an area of the seafront behind Adventure Island has been cordoned off by police crews.
At this stage, it is not yet known the events which led up to the emergency response.
Essex Police and the ambulance service have been contacted for comment.

18-year-old left 'seriously injured' after attack on Southend seafront
UPDATE:
Essex Police have confirmed an 18-year-old was left "seriously injured" after being attacked on the seafront.
The force received reports of a disturbance involving a group of people around 6.45pm.
After attending, the team found an 18-year-old man seriously injured.
He was taken to hospital for further treatment.
