Plans to set up a new fast food restaurant in Southend High Street have been scrapped.
The proposals put forward by Tariq Ahmed were withdrawn last month, though no reason was given for the decision.
The plans were first submitted back in December last year and would have seen a new restaurant set up in 119 High Street.
It was formerly home to the Beauty Palace shop but has been empty for some time.
Drawings submitted alongside the now withdrawn application suggest fast food outlet, Sam’s Chicken, was being lined up to move in.

The firm has around 48 outlets across the country, with dozens based around London.
However, it does not yet have a restaurant in Essex.
Sam’s Chicken offers a range of fried and peri-peri chicken, wraps, sides such as fries and mozzarella dips, and even sweet treats like apple pies.
No objections had been submitted to the proposals for Southend High Street prior to the application being pulled.
