A CYCLIST has been left with life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash on Southchurch Road yesterday afternoon.
Police attended the scene after a Mercedes and the cyclist collided.
A woman in her 30s, who was on the bike, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Another three cars - two being stationary and one being driven behind the Mercedes - were also involved in the incident which happened just before 2.20pm.
None of the drivers or passengers suffered serious injury.
The driver of the silver Mercedes A Class, a woman in her 60s from Westcliff, remained on scene to assist with our enquiries.
Essex Police are now appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the lead-up to the incident or the incident itself, or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to share with us.
"Please call 101 or submit your footage through our website.
"The incident number to quote is 682 of 17 June.
"If you have information but would prefer to remain anonymous you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
