FRUSTRATED residents have faced two weeks of overflowing bins with dust carts unable to access their road due to works.
Residents in Hullbridge Road, Rayleigh, fear the issue could last up to six weeks while the roadworks continue.
A new roundabout has opened on the road, however the current roadworks currently prevent dust carts from being able to stop to clear the rubbish.
A resident, who asked not to be named, claims the collection agency, SUEZ, asked the council to put a muster collection in place so they could still collect the bins, but this has not been organised.
Rochford Council was contacted for comment but failed to respond.

The resident said: “We put our bins out as normal last week and they weren’t collected. We phoned the council and they said that because they had opened the roundabout they hadn’t planned where the dust cart would stop because of the ongoing roadworks.
“SUEZ, the collection agency, said they had got in touch with the council because they can’t reverse out of our road onto the roundabout because it’s dangerous.
“They’ve asked the council to organise muster stations for residents to leave their rubbish for it to be collected but this has not yet been organised.”
Residents now worry how long the issue will continue.
They added: “We’re literally not going to have our bins emptied for five to six weeks until the roadworks finish.
“We have had to endure weeks of traffic congestion and now we have to put up with no bin collections for many week too.
“It’s just annoying that they didn’t plan for this. It was suggested that if we were that bothered we should take our rubbish in our cars to the tip.
“Who wants to put rotting rubbish in their car?
“It’s really frustrating. Until they sort it out we’re going to have a bit of a problem, especially if the weather warms up again.”
A spokesperson for Essex Highways, said: “Essex County Council granted a permit for the necessary development works to take place. The permit conditions do not include road closures during the day. We would expect the developer to work with Rochford Council, who are responsible for bin collections, to ensure access is made possible as needed, or that alternative temporary arrangements are made.”
