A GIRL has been hit by a car outside the King John School, prompting the road to be cordoned off.
Police are currently at the scene following the collision on Shipwrights Drive this afternoon.
The girl has suffered injuries but they are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
She is being seen to by the East of England ambulance service following the accident.
Essex Police have confirmed that the driver of a black Nissan is on scene assisting with their enquiries.
Alan Mechem, director of communications at the Zenith Academy Trust said: "We want to say thank you to the staff and members of the community that helped when the accident happened.
"Our thoughts are with the young lady and we wish her a fast recovery."
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Anyone with information who has not yet spoken to our officers is asked to submit a report through our website, or call us on 101.
"The incident number to quote is 774 of Wednesday June 23."
The ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
