A CLEANER sent hundreds of abusive calls and texts to a couple and faked a lie detector test after jewellery went missing.
Amanda Crowhurst had been employed as a cleaner by a Rochford couple before she sent them the “barrage” of abuse.
The 32-year-old of Pulpits Close, Hockley became incensed after the couple asked her questions about jewellery that had gone missing.
The barrage of texts and voice messages over a period of ten days included Crowhurst blaming the couple for any miscarriage she may endure of her unborn child due to “stress”.
Crowhurst also faked documents saying she had taken a lie detector test.
She has not been charged over any thefts, but admitted harassment after being arrested in February.
Judge Samantha Leigh said: “You were friends and she then employed you to do the cleaning work at her home.
“They noticed some items had gone missing.

“Her partner asked you about the missing jewellery, she asked you face to face.
“That set off a chain of messages, saying ‘I am going to get a lie detector test’ and the threat of a possible miscarriage of your unborn child.
“The messages were frequent. It’s a barrage of messages of voice and text.
“You had become violent and threatening, saying if you lose your baby you will come for her.
“You threatened to go to social services and sent emails to her employer and posted information saying people should abuse her.
“You called her a murderer on numerous occasions.”
The court heard that when Crowhurst was arrested she admitted to making up the lie detector test and harassing the woman.
In a victim impact statement, the woman felt her reputation was damaged by the harassment.
Judge Leigh added: “You still don’t recognise what you have actually done and the harm and pain you have caused. It’s a lot of self pity about how you feel, but it’s not about how you feel, it’s about the pain you caused.”
Crowhurst received 20 months prison suspended for two years, with 60 days rehabilitation, 100 hours unpaid work and a 10 year restraining order.
