A DRUG dealer was put behind bars thanks to a joint operation between Essex and Metropolitan police officers.

Chris Brembah, who flooded Southend with class A drugs, was arretsed on February 9, as part of a probe into the supply of drugs between London and Southend.

The 34-year-old of Barnabas Road, Homerton, in east London, ran the Kane line, selling heroin and crack cocaine in Southend.

When he was arrested in Rusper Close, Cricklewood, he had the phone used to make the drug deals and officers found heroin hidden in the freezer.

The drugs had a street value of £1,700.

Brembah had previously been caught with 11 wraps of crack cocaine and one of heroin in Terrace Road, Hackney, in August 2019.

Sergeant Rob Maile said: “We worked closely with the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Orochi team to secure the evidence against Brembah and he had no choice but to plead guilty.

“He is just one of the latest dealers we’ve identified and put behind bars, and every day we are building cases against more.

“We are working with colleagues in the Met and other counties to dismantle drugs gangs from the top, and there is no place to hide.”

He appeared at Basildon Crown Court on June 4 and admitted possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to supply heroin, and being concerned in the supply of heroin.

He was jailed at Southend Crown Court on Thursday June 24 for two years and six months.
