Basildon has been named the third hardest place to book a table at a pub to watch England in the Euros.
The majority of pubs in south Essex are already fully booked for tomorrow evening’s huge semi-final clash against Denmark.
Some have even told the Echo that they were booked moments after England’s victory over Ukraine in the quarter-finals.
And for those football fans struggling to find a pub in Basildon to watch the matches, there may be a simple explanation.
Analysis by money.co.uk has found the town has the third fewest pubs in the UK per number of residents.
There are 40 venues in the Basildon Borough still trading while the area has an estimated population of 187,199.
That works out at 4,680 people per pub.
Only Luton and Slough had a higher ratio than that across all towns and cities in the UK.
Aveley in Thurrock came sixth on the list, with a ratio of 3,874 people per pub.
There were no areas in Essex that came inside the top 20 places in the UK with the best pub per population ratio.
Unsurprisingly London came top when it comes to most expensive pint in the UK, with an average of £5.
That is more than double the price at the cheapest town, Telford, which averages just £2.
How are you planning on supporting England against Denmark?
