A MAN was arrested after an assault took place at Roots Hall stadium on the night of the Euro finals.
Police were called to Victoria Avenue at around 11pm after reports that a victim had been struck with a chair at the stadium.
It comes after witnesses at the screening of the final described the stadium as being a "warzone" after the game.
The victim suffered injuries to his mouth.
A 31-year-old man from Brentwood was arrested on suspicion of affray and has been released under investigation while police continue with their enquiries.
