NEW home owners were left feeling “violated” after their house was broken into and their car was stolen - just three weeks after moving in.
Ellie Muskett, 26, was left in shock on Monday morning as she came down the stairs and found the front door to her home on Oxford Close, Langdon Hills, was wide open.
Ellie went to get her handbag but noticed it was missing, along with her purse and her partner’s car - a Volkswagen Golf R.
The burglary has been reported to Essex Police.
Ellie said: “I came down in the morning and the front door was open.
“I went to get my handbag from the living room and it wasn’t there.
“I looked out the window and I couldn’t see my other half’s car and then I realised it was all gone.
“They had taken my purse off the side as well but that was it. Nothing else had even been touched.
“We’ve only been in the house for three weeks. We just bought it and had builders in and out.
“It’s just violating knowing they have been inside your house.”

Ellie has now had to hide her own car from the burglars in case they come back after her keys were in the handbag that was taken.
She said: “Police came and took finger prints but they think they came for the car. They think it’s been stolen to order because it’s quite a highly valued car.
“They think they may have been watching us because it’s the one night we didn’t have the dog with us.
“The CCTV footage that we have of them shows them there at around 3am but we didn’t notice any activity.
“They’ve got my car keys as well because they were in my handbag so I’ve had to hide my car from them.”
Despite the burglary, Ellie insists she still feels safe in her new home after the incident appeared to be a one-off for the area.
However, Ellie added: “I still feel safe in the area.
“It’s out of the ordinary and the police have said they rarely get calls in Langdon Hills so that’s been a bit of a comfort.”
Essex Police were contacted for comment following the burglary.
