THE long wait to finally enjoy a night out with friends is almost over.
On Monday, all Covid restrictions will be lifted – meaning nightclubs can reopen and the rule of six will no longer exist.
After more than a year spent at home, your first night out needs to be the best.
We’ve put a list together of some of the best bars and clubs to go to in south Essex.
Slug and Lettuce, Southend
The cocktail bar boasts a large beer garden where punters can enjoy a glass of wine, cocktail or beer.

Vodka Revolution, Southend
Evenings at Vodka Revolution are designed for “maximum fun” according to the chain. The has a variety of drinks and cocktails to choose from as well as a live DJ and dancefloor.
Unit 7, Basildon
The popular Basildon nightclub has three dancefloors for guests to dance the night away. The club has a number of events already planned throughout July and August.
The Spa, Hockley
The Spa is the idea place to relax and meet with friends while enjoying some drinks. The pub also plays live sport.

Colors, Basildon
Colors nightclub is situated opposite Basildon station with events taking place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. The club has plenty pf party booths and drinks packages available for special occasions.
MooMoo Clubrooms, Southend
MooMoo nightclub has bookings open ready for the grand reopening. The club has three rooms which play different music.
Pink Toothbrush, Rayleigh
The Pink Toothbrush specialises in indie and alternative music. The club is open every Friday and Saturday night.
Coco, Southend
Coco has something for everyone offering a totally different experience from a typical night out.
Cabaret performances are on offer as well as a number of themed brunches.
The Peterboat, Leigh
The Peterboat in Leigh is a major hotspot in the historical town. The popular pub is the ideal spot for a light lunch, dinner or evening drinks.
