A new adventure bar in south Essex has officially opened and is already proving a big hit.
Boom Battle Bar opened its first venue in the county at Lakeside last week.
The bar goers against the more traditional term, with emphasis placed on entertainment and not just drinking and socialising.
Battle Bar has a wide selection of food and drinks and has launched a new menu to coincide with the opening of its new site in Essex.
Drinks range from wines, spirits, draught beers and themed cocktails.
But the biggest draw is undoubtedly the activities and games on offer to revellers, who have a wide choice of things to do during their time in the bar.
The activities include:
- Augmented Reality Darts booths
- Two Axe Throwing lanes
- Beer Pong tables
- American Pool
- Shuffleboard
- Indoor Ice Curling
- Arcades
- VIP rooms
- Outside Petanque court made from 3 tonnes of blue sand
Thurrock’s Tiktok star Dani Speaks, who has more than 1.5 million followers on the platform, was one of the VIP guests invited along for the opening of the bar.
Co-Founder Richard Beese said: “We’re thrilled to announce our doors are open for our brand-new Lakeside branch so we can bring the Boom experience to the local community and beyond.
“Lakeside Boom Battle Bar houses our most sort after games from Axe Throwing to Augmented Reality Darts.

“As our first location in Essex, we couldn’t be more excited for consumers to experience all Boom has to offer and, after an incredible opening weekend, we welcome customers to come together with their mates and dates for a night of friendly competition”
Boom Battle Bar is also planning on setting up another venue in Essex in Chelmsford.
Bookings for the new bar at Lakeside can be made through the website with timeslots available for all games.
