Coastguard crews rushed to help a pregnant woman in Southend waters during an overnight rescue.
The Southend Coastguard team were tasked to the mission at 3am this morning, after receiving reports of a 7/8 month pregnant female in the water opposite Adventure Island.
RNLI Southend, Essex Police and the ambulance service had also been tasked to help at the scene.
But when the coastguard team arrived, the casualty had already been extracted from the water by an RNLI staff member.
Ambulance crews then transferred the casualty to hospital, with the Southend Coastguard team wishing them a "quick and full recovery."
A spokesman from the team, said: "Should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast, don’t hesitate to dial 999 and ask for the coastguard, you could save someone’s life."
