Police have confirmed a man in his 40s was found dead, with a Corringham car park cordoned off by officers.
The team were called by members of the ambulance service to the scene yesterday (July 29), shortly before 3.50pm.
The car park, on the junction of Lampits Hill and Giffords Cross Road, was cordoned off late yesterday afternoon.
It sits adjacent the Esso petrol station on Church Road where it is believed police are reviewing CCTV footage, while a forensic tent was also put in place.
Upon arrival, police found the man in his 40s had died.
The force are now investigating the circumstances leading up to his death.

A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to Giffords Cross Road, in Stanford-le-Hope, shortly before 3.50pm on Thursday (July 29).
"We arrived and sadly found a man aged in his 40s had died.
"At the moment, we are investigating the circumstances leading up to his death."
