A MAN walked underneath Southend Pier before climbing onto the top by using scaffolding, appearing at the far end of the 1.3-mile long attraction.
Coastguard teams were called to the man making his way underneath the pier, avoiding using the pier trains to get to the end.
He was then spotted climbing scaffolding to get onto the end of the pier, where he was met by RNLI and coastguard teams.

Essex Police was then called.
A man was escorted back to shore and arrested.
A spokesman from Southend Coastguard, said: "We were tasked at 2.00pm to reports of a male walking out to sea under Southend Pier who had then climbed some scaffolding on the pier and had now made it to the end of Southend Pier.
"Southend Coastguard met up with Essex Police and sent three coastguard officers with police officers to the end of the pier where the casualty was located.
"Coastguard officers then met the casualty and handed the casualty over to the waiting police officers who then escorted the male back to the shore end of the pier via the RNLI buggy where he was taken into custody."
