A DRUG dealer has been jailed after being found with Class A drugs in a Southend hotel.

Angela Gravely has been jailed for more than two years for possessing heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis inside the Travelodge in Chichester Road, Southend this year.

The 38-year-old of York Road, Southend, was stopped by officers on June 24 and searched.

The police found 4.6 grams of diamorphine (heroin) along with 10.6 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of herbal cannabis.

Gravel was arrested and later charged, where she appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court and admitted the offences.

She was remanded in custody on the grounds that she had previously been convicted of other crimes, and that the evidence against her was "strong".

At Basildon Crown Court, Recorder Paul Sharkey jailed Gravely, who appeared via video link from Peterborough prison, for a total of 26 months for her crimes.
