TWO children were left trapped inside an overturned car this afternoon, it has been confirmed.
The fire service, who sent several vehicles to the scene on the A130, confirmed that a woman, and two children were trapped in a ditch.
The road is closed in both directions.
Several police, ambulance, fire crews, and an air ambulance all attended the crash.

A spokesman from the Essex Fire Service, said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on A130 southbound, close to the junction with the A127, today at 12.24pm.
"Crews from Rayleigh Weir, Hawkwell and Leigh attended and found a woman and two children trapped in a car on its roof in a ditch.
"Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release the casualties by 1.52pm and left them in the care of the Ambulance Service."
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A130 near Rawreth at around 12.20pm today.
"The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Nobody was seriously injured.
