RAYLEIGH has seen repeated power cuts in recent weeks, caused by a faulty power cable delivering electricity to the town.
UK Power Network is investigating the issues and are "hopeful" the problems will soon be resolved for residents.
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, demanded answers from the chief executive of UK Power Network, Basil Scarsella, and Mark Adolphus, director of connectors for UK Power Networks.
The MP also raised concerns of utility companies "frequently digging up the roads" in the area.

He also sought assurances that future housing developments would have no adverse impact on reliable power delivery.
He said: "UKPN have agreed to look again at the issue that caused the fault to try and ensure that my constituents are not facing further power outages.
"I was also pleased to have the chance to raise the frustration caused by utility companies frequently digging up roads in the constituency and to request that any future works are carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
