A WOMAN was rescued after needing medical attention on a beach.
Southend Coastguard along with the East of England Ambulance Service was sent to Chalkwell beach on Sunday afternoon, following a woman who needed help.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: "We were tasked at 2.40pm to assist East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust with a casualty extraction of a female in need of medical assistance from Chalkwell beach opposite the Salt Water Cafe.

"As the team approached the scene the casualty had already now been extracted into an ambulance where they were receiving treatment in situ.
"The casualty did not require hospital treatment and was going to transported home by Essex Police.
"Should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast, don’t hesitate to dial 999 and ask for the coastguard, you could save someone’s life."
